Our Engineering Services function is responsible for aiding the design, testing and manufacture of our automated products relating to our hardware and software products. We have a brilliant opportunity for a PDM/PLM/CAD Specialist to join our mission and help support the next phase of our products.
How you’ll spend your days…
As a PDM/PLM/CAD Specialist you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the systems, specifically the quality of data, maintenance of processes, and setting best practice in line with corporate standards of 3D modelling, drawings and PLM support. You will also be responsible for providing functional support for enhancing, developing, and implementing any future PDM/PLM capabilities.Other responsibilities might include;
- Providing day to day support to cross-functional teams to meet agreed service level agreements and drive standardisation in system usage and processes
- Creating governance for CAD processes and setting the corporate standards
- Administering the CAD, PDM/PLM systems to ensure system availability and low system downtime through collaboration with relevant IT teams
- Comparing CAD data against Design Requirements, including Change Documentation
- Communicating KPIs and SLAs for CAD/PDM systems
- Updating meta-data within a PDM/PLM environment
- Collaborating with stakeholders to streamline Data Quality Management Process
- Providing training, support and suggestions for best practice to stakeholders using the PLM system
- Working closely with internal and external stakeholders to deliver projects by documenting processes, user scenarios, user guides and user requirements during project implementation
- Participating in requirements, solutions and user testing, and creating documentation
- Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver the PLM Data Model Implementation
- Offering technical insight in data quality assessments for CAD/PLM systems
- Coordinating with stakeholders throughout the Project Lifecycle

- An engineering degree or equivalent
- Strong history of using SolidWorks (preferred) or other CAD tools (OnShape, AutoCAD, EPLAN, ALTIUM) in a professional environment
- Experience in administration of a PDM and PLM system, preferably SolidWorks PDM
- Understanding of Mechanical Design practices
- Experience designing components and assemblies that have moved to production
- Strong relationship management skills
- Experience configuring or implementing PLM systems
- Understanding of working with tools such as JIRA, Cognidox, Slack, G-Suite
- Ability to work within a team on multiple projects and prioritise tasks
Bonus points if you also have…
- Previous experience working on industry standards (for example BS8888 or ASME 14.5)
- Previous experience on SQL database, report generation and major IT development, incorporating costs and benefits, and presenting proposals to clients
