We are growing fast, developing our games using cutting-edge technology and delivering these on multiple platforms: PC, PlayStation 4 and 5 and Xbox One and Series S/XWe are looking for an Lighting Artist to join our game creation process and work within the development team to bring our world-class vehicles and environments together in developing our games. You will work with the game Lead Engineers and Art Leads to craft stunning quality lighting within our game environments that enables our players to experience our worlds and vehicles in their full glory.Responsibilities

  • Understand composition and the ability to enhance environments and locations through lighting.
  • Experience with Physically Based Rendering tools.
  • General understanding of Shaders and materials.
  • 1-2 years of lighting experience on PC or console hardware (Xbox One, Xbox Series S & X, PS4, PS5, ).
  • Work with the designers and technical artists to create balanced and atmospheric lighting for in game environments and cinematics.
  • Work with Technical Artists and Engineers to create lighting-specific tools and features.
  • Make any changes requested in an iterative intense pipeline.
  • Author pre-baked and real-time lighting via proprietary software.
  • Create lighting related visual effects including fire, heat glows and post effects.
  • Maintain and ensure runtime performance and optimize when required.
  • Undertake performance profiling and optimisation of the UE4 and UE5 engine across multiple platforms.

Person Specifications

  • Be able to rise to the challenges and problem solve when required.
  • Passion to raise the bar in video game lighting.
  • Working knowledge of 2D packages such as Photoshop/Substance/Quixel.
  • Knowledge of 3D packages such as 3DS Max or Maya.
  • Knowledge of the Unreal Engine 4 or similar.
  • Knowledge of Unreal Engine 5 is beneficial.
  • Knowledge in a variety of baked and real time lighting methods.
