Role and responsibilities

We are looking for a Warehouse Operative to help control the flow of stock through a warehouse, monitoring goods in and out, safely and efficiently moving and handling items and keeping stock records. We will be relocating from Dartford to Sidcup in September 2022 and you will have the opportunity to help with set up and layout of the new warehouse space.

  • Be responsible for receiving and checking all deliveries, receive and process warehouse stock products (receive, unload, label, store)
  • Ensure all stock is stored in the correct manner safely, moving the goods to the correct area in the warehouse
  • Report any discrepancies, keep a record of and report any frequent shortages or spare items
  • Prepare and complete orders for delivery or pickup according to schedule (load, pack, wrap, label, ship)
  • Monitor courier deliveries and flag any delays
  • Carry out regular stock takes
  • Organise and deliver goods from the stores to the relevant departments as required
  • Perform warehouse inventory controls and keeping quality standards high for audits
  • Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimise space utilisation
  • Complete diary logs into inventory
  • Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and co-workers
  • Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules and regulations
  • Ensure positive engagement between the scheduling team and other departments
  • You may be required to undertake other duties from time to time to meet the needs of the business


Requirements

  • Proven working experience in a warehouse
  • Familiarity with warehousing practices and methods
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Be physically fit to be able to potentially lift up to 25kg weights as well as move up to 70kg trolleys
  • Ability to multitask and carry out repetitive tasks
  • Basic numeracy skills required
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently
  • Ability to communicate in written and spoken English
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail
  • Diligent and punctual
  • IT skills, with confidence using Microsoft Office
