Basildon Pitsea 24 hour hospital, Vet with Opthalmology bias, salary up to £65K (negotiable DOE)We are looking for a Veterinary Surgeon with a passion for Ophthalmology to join our team. This is a full time role but part time hours will be considered. Initially you will pick up some first opinion consults with our aim being to develop a service exclusively dedicated to Ophthalmology providing referrals for our own clients and practices in the surrounding areas.We are already well-equipped for this and have invested in the following: slit lamp biomicroscope, tonovet, panoptic/indirect ophthalmoscope including condensing indirect lenses, gonioscopy lens, Alpha cryosurgery equipment, eye microscope; canon EOS 600D. We are now looking to increase our service offered to enable cataract surgery.There will be no OOH and you will be part of our 1 in 4 weekend rota.About Us:
Basildon Pitsea is a 24 hour RCVS accredited small animal hospital providing first opinion and referral level services to our clients and surrounding practices. A recent expansion and addition of an MRI scanner and rehabilitation suite with hydrotherapy treadmill allows us to offer a comprehensive range of treatment options for our patients. Our services include Imaging (MRI and CT), Orthopaedic, Opthamology and Rehabilitation referrals, excellent first opinion facilities and we provide Out of Hours cover for 5 other practices in the area.We have dedicated night and day teams meaning our patients are always getting the best care and our team get exposure to the case load and progression opportunities important to them, as well as the working patterns that will suit them best.We are a 14 Vet team with lots of experience and different post-graduate qualifications and areas of expertise amongst us including in Ophthalmology, Soft Tissue Surgery, Orthopaedics, Cardiology, Internal medicine, Neurology, Exotics and Imaging.We also have a fantastic nursing team who like our vets hold many additional certificates and qualifications between them (33 in total!) as well as many being schedule three trained. In addition, we have a hydrotherapist, physiotherapist and wonderful support team who help our days run as smoothly as possible.Following our extension we continue to grow and have worked hard to create a friendly, forward-thinking, working environment where we strive for continuous improvement and to provide the best care possible to each individual patient whilst ensuring our team also have the support to be at their best.You can find out more about out practice, team and services we offer here:We are located 30minutes by train to London and as well as being close to direct transport links to Southend and Stansted Airports.
