Main Purpose of the Role

Responsible for the user experience of our solutions, you will have the opportunity to shape the next generation of SeeByte’s workflows and user interfaces. You will work with the UX, commercial, product, and engineering teams, as well as external clients and end-users, and drive the design process to improve end-users interaction with SeeByte’s command and control software.

SeeByte is looking for a proactive and independent UX designer, who can advocate and drive UX forward within the company and our customer base. You have an eye for detail and can design innovative, tailored solutions, but also understand the value of consistency and designing to internal and external design standards.

In addition to design, you are passionate about the end user. You have the skills to carry out discovery user research and user evaluations with our international client base and are capable of translating findings into requirements and designs. You are able to carry out reviews of our existing software and support UI engineers in implementing your recommendations.

Support and training will be given throughout to allow you to develop and grow in the role as required.

Required skills:

  • Confident in designing workflows and user interfaces for specialised, complex domains
  • Strong visual and graphic design sense and eye for detail
  • Proficient with UX design tools, such as Adobe XD, Figma, Framer, or Sketch
  • Experience collaborating with UI engineers to see a design through to realisation
  • Professional attitude and capable of representing SeeByte to external clients and end-users
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Capable of breaking down and planning tasks required to realise a design goal
  • Experience carrying out discovery research, defining user stories, and translating findings into design requirements
  • Experience carrying out user evaluations and recommending improvements

Experience in the following areas is desirable:

  • UX design for commercial software applications (as opposed to websites or apps), particularly in specialised domains
  • UI implementation skills, particularly using C# and WPF
  • Working with design systems, such as Material Design, and contributing to an internal design system

Successful candidates usually have a degree in Design, HCI, Software Engineering with a UX emphasis, or a similar related subject.
