Technical Safety Engineer | Offshore O&G | Visa Sponsorship Available

Overview: NES Fircroft is proudly partnering with a world-leading independent Oil & Gas company to find skilled Technical Safety Engineers at all levels for their growing QSHE team in Norwich. This long-term opportunity offers competitive earnings (£50,000 – £66,000 p.a. estimated) and includes both staff (with excellent benefits, relocation, sponsorship) and contract options.

About the Opportunity:

  • Join a dynamic QSHE team supporting the safe and efficient operation of offshore assets within the Southern North Sea.
  • Act as an internal expert, ensuring compliance with UK regulations and shaping best practices across the business.
  • This role is pivotal in upholding the client’s strong reputation for innovation and safety.

Your Essential Expertise:

  • Consequence Modelling is Non-Negotiable: A critical aspect of this role is hands-on experience with consequence modelling tools such as PHAST (and ideally FLARESIM). All modelling is performed in-house, so this skill is fundamental to hit the ground running.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Leading and facilitating critical safety studies (HAZID, ALARP, Bowtie, Total Risk Management).
  • Developing and maintaining Barrier Diagrams and risk visualisation tools.
  • Conducting detailed consequence modelling using PHAST and FLARESIM.
  • Performing mini Quantitative Risk Assessments (QRAs) via event and fault trees.
  • Executing Hazardous Area Classification and Fire & Explosion Risk Assessments (FERAs).
  • Contributing to Safety Case amendments and 5-Year Thorough Reviews.
  • Applying knowledge of COMAH regulations and, ideally, CFD tools.

  • Proficiency with tools like BowTie XP, PHA-Pro, and FLARESIM.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Highly organised, analytical mindset, and confident in making technical decisions.

Why This Role Stands Out:

  • Impactful Projects: Work on significant onshore and offshore projects across the UKCS.
  • Company Culture: Join a company renowned for its technical depth, innovation, and unwavering commitment to safety.
