Street lighting Electrician
We are excited to present an opportunity for a Skilled Operative to join our exceptional team at FMJ Solutions. Our company is renowned for delivering excellence in highway maintenance and electrical services, and we’re looking for a Highway Electrician to play an important role in maintaining and installing electrical equipment on the highways. Key Responsibilities:
As a Skilled highways electrician, you will be an integral part of our mission to uphold the highest standards in highway network maintenance. Your role will involve a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:
Managing on-site point-of-work risk assessments.
Identifying and reporting safety observations.
Setting up and removing site traffic management/pedestrian management.
Being responsible for company Property, Equipment, and Vehicles.
Installation and repair of Street Lights, Illuminated Traffic Bollards, and Illuminated Signs.
Jointing and termination of private network cables.
EV Charging Points.
Lantern conversion programmes.
Electrical Testing.
Routine Maintenance, and fault repair operations.
Operating light goods vehicles and MEWP vehicles.
Managing traffic operations to ensure safety.
Ensuring strict compliance with electrical standards for safety.
Operating and driving vehicles and plant machinery, utilizing both general and specialist skills.
Providing valuable guidance and mentoring to apprentices and trainees.
Being a part of the Call Out/Standby Rota for emergency work.
Flexibility to handle other ad hoc duties as required.
Qualifications and Requirements:
NVQ Level 3 in Highway Electrical Work (or approved equivalent).
A full UK driving license.
Ability to drive 7.5T vehicles advantageous
Previous experience in Street Lighting or Highways maintenance is essential for this role as we are looking for individuals who can hit the ground running and operative in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable: ECS Card.
Desirable: IPAF 1B MEWP.
Desirable: G39 Certificate.
Desirable: 18th Edition or 714 HERs qualification.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £18.00-£20.00 per hour
