Working at Fnality

What’s in a name?

At Fnality, our job titles (like that at the top of this job description), are loosely held, and often more indicative of our previous experience than what we are currently working on. For example, one week you could be involved in all things Platform Engineering 99% of the time, but the next week splitting your time between building the payment system, running RFPs for tooling and working with our partners – so whatever the company needs to prioritise to meet its goals, whilst utilising your potential.

That being said, we would love for candidates to being able to demonstrate some of these competencies:

• Able to drive the technical operations team from a platform operations perspective including rolling out of platform changes and incident management

• Able to guide the team to deliver highly resilient and scalable technology to customers

• Experience managing best practice standards, administrating and troubleshooting cloud platform services (AzureAWSGCP)

• 5 years of In-depth experience and knowledge of KubernetesTerraform and Helm

• Ideally knowledge of the following tech stack:

Besu QBFT, GitLab Pipelines, Flux 2 – GitOps, AWS multi-account structure, AWS Security Services – Security Hub, Config etc, Knowledge of AWS CloudHSM, EKS, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Microservices Architecture, Golang or Java

Key responsibilities will include:

· Working as the platform operations team lead helping deploy and support Fnality product environments

· Working with the team PO to create, maintain and deliver against an organised and cross organisation-aligned backlog of delivery and support operations

· Enabling visibility, transparency and understanding of work to be done for the platform team and the wider organisation

· Enabling an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture to set clear goals, delegate tasks and set deadlines

· Using your extensive experience working on infrastructure and CI/CD using Cloud Native best practices to help Fnality build platforms and systems that are operable, reliable and scalable

· Mentoring, pairing, and developing other members of the team

· Application performance monitoring and event management – experience in this is a plus

· Working closely with customers (Tier 1 Banks, Central Banks) on operational support issues and ensuring 24×7 availability of our platforms.

Ideally you will have…

· Experience of performing a senior platform engineer role or similar, and as of late had chances to flex your leadership competency, ideally in an agile, fast-growing scaleup

· Knowledge of and/or interest in blockchain, security operations, financial services back-office processes, systems and products

However, if your experience isn’t an exact match, please apply if you are interested and we can see if there is a potential opportunity for you with Fnality.

Why should you join Fnality?

Working in cross-functional teams in 2 weekly sprints very much in line with the Agile way of working, you will have the option to explore your career interests to a far deeper level than at most organisations.

We employ curious individuals who thrive working in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment, who work best when empowered to drive their own work, and who are not afraid to fail fast and learn quicker.

You will be an analytical thinker who is able to look at tasks and understand the most efficient way to achieve the desired outcome. You will be vigilantly outcomes-focused and fully agile in your approach to working. You will have an insatiable desire to learn, adept at picking up new challenges and giving it a go. You will want to deliver as much as learn and you will understand how important the power of the team is.
