The Patient Service Centre Team at East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust is currently recruiting Outpatients Assistant Administrators to support our growing services across multiple sites. As part of one of the largest NHS Trusts in England, you will be working in a collaborative, high-impact environment focused on delivering excellent care and service.
This position plays a crucial role in the patient journey, being the first point of contact for patients attending outpatient appointments. If you’re detail-oriented, patient-focused, and thrive in a busy, team-based setting, we would love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Register incoming GP referrals
- Schedule initial patient appointments
- Communicate professionally with patients via phone and email
- Ensure the first point of contact is a positive and supportive experience
- Record accurate data to support hospital targets and funding
- Manage appointment cancellations, rescheduling, and patient queries
- Operate multiple NHS IT systems efficiently

About You:
- Strong communication skills with a patient-first attitude
- Ability to work well in a team and under pressure
- Accurate data entry and strong attention to detail
- Previous administrative experience in a healthcare or high-volume setting is a plus
- Comfortable using multiple digital systems and software tools
