Play a pivotal part in the development of industry-leading multiplayer games?

I am currently supporting a BAFTA-winning studio based in Guildford with their search for an experienced online gameplay programmer. With over 15 years’ experience in games development, they are an established studio at the forefront of AAA blockbusters and since creating a global brand with some of the biggest releases on VR and console platforms, they are looking to create a high-quality MMORPG with an outstanding online experience.

They have an exceptional culture that values employee’s work-life balance and a productive, relaxed environment. To achieve this, they don’t operate a crunch methodology which creates harsh deadlines and stressful pressures on their staff, instead opting to use effective planning and project management skills – even discouraging overtime unless you choose to.

You will be working within the online experience function, and have the chance to design, build, and integrate a variety of both low- and high-level networking features ensuring a collaborative process between the production team and a smooth player experience is delivered across the newest titles for the latest console, VR, and PC platforms!

Required Experience:

Proficient knowledge of C++
Experience developing with Unreal Engine
Low level networking understanding of NAT, UDP, TCP/IP, Sockets
Knowledge of networking systems such as matchmaking, server hosting, and game network systems
Experience working on shipped games
