WHAT TO EXPECT

In this shift leader role (known in JLR as a Maintenance Leader), you will contribute towards the long-term success of Jaguar Land Rover, y our responsibilities will include managing shift labour to achieve target uptime and quality requirements, carrying out root cause and countermeasures investigations to closure. You will plan, schedule and carry out running checks and repairs as well as drive the planned preventive maintenance (PPM) program. Implementation of company and departmental processes and procedures including safety, 5S methodology, time attendance and discipline at shift level will be a part of your daily duties.

Moreover, you’ll have the ability to plan as well as coordinate shutdown work and projects with your team andhigher management to deliver improvements in cost, quality and timing targets. You’ll also liaise with quality, Project, Purchasing, and Safety teams to reach full technical and commercial alignment.

The successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining and improving many types of technology including robotics, automation systems, Glazing systems, and vehicle fluid fill.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

Your key accountabilities and responsibilities include:

  • Provide day-to-day leadership to the maintenance team to ensure a safe and efficient production performance is delivered within the Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, People and Environment framework
  • Comply to Health and Safety procedures by ensuring all safety metrics are achieved, including identifying safety hazards and risks and ensuring corrective action implemented and ensures the team receive appropriate training
  • Support and maintain the area staffing and ensure it is within operational constraints to achieve operational targets
  • Own and lead 5S and workplace organisation activities, validating effectiveness to standards
  • Lead the team to carry out running checks and repairs, as well as the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and Corrective Maintenance (CM) activities
  • Ensure the achievement of equipment uptime objectives as directed
  • Co-ordinate resource to ensure the right people are in the right place at the right time with the right tools for the task whist communicating clearly with the wider operations team

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Knowledge and Experience

  • Previous experience in a similar role within a maintenance operational environment in manufacturing
  • Proven engineering maintenance technical skills gained from within a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively cross-functionally at different levels
  • Able to work independently, manage priorities, and identify solutions to issues using own initiative, coupled with a strong desire to make a difference
  • A ‘can do’ approach with a customer driven mindset
