Job overview

The Trust is looking for motivated, enthusiastic and experienced individuals who are keen to develop new skills and take on responsibility for the processing, analysis & reporting of key performance measures to assist the Trust in delivering its objectives.

The team is currently looking to expand to ensure that we are well resourced to support the Trust with the transition to an Electronic Patient Record.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will have a degree/professional qualification or equivalent experience in a relevant post. They must be able to demonstrate strong analytical & technical skills, including the use of MS SQL and Power BI. Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present technical matters to non-specialists will be essential, as is a desire to develop and improve current processes where necessary.

The successful candidate will be able to prioritise their own workload and use their initiative to achieve specific deadlines, whilst working as a member of a team with its own priorities and deadlines.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

– To provide analytical support to the Trust.
– To provide support to the Trust to ensure the appropriate information is available to assist in making informed decisions to ensure services are aligned to demand and the Trust’s future strategies.
– Based on customer consultation design functional specifications. Using creative and problem solving skills, support the changing information requirements of the trust through the design, development and creation of develop bespoke Excel, SSRS and PowerBI reports and dashboards.
– Extraction and interrogation of data from multiple data sources using Business Intelligence software including, but not limited to SQL, SSIS, SSRS, Microsoft Excel and PowerBI.

Person specification

Qualification

  • A degree in a relevant discipline, or exeperince in an Information Management role with additional knowledge of SQL query language and VBA programming
  • Recognised Professional IM&T qualification or working towards.

Experience

  • Understanding of relational databases.
  • Experience of Health Informatics including Payment by Results and SUS.

Skills

  • Ability to analyse and present complex data.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, have the ability to communicate at all levels.
