Job Overview:
We are seeking a Healthcare Assistant to work in the DEXA department. In this role, you will assist the Radiographer with various tasks, ensuring patient comfort and dignity at all times. You will also be responsible for supporting patient data collation to improve patient experience and outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Radiographer with cleaning, infection prevention, and control.
- Attend to the needs of the patient, ensuring their comfort and dignity.
- Support with patient data collation and phlebotomy for DEXA patients.
- Take relevant patient information prior to their appointment, such as height and weight.
- Ensure that the necessary documentation accompanies the patient.
- Use the DEXA Information Systems to record patient information.
- Assist with the manual handling of patients and act as a chaperone for some examinations.
- Liaise with relevant staff, nurses, and consultants.
- Escort patients within the DEXA department and assist with the moving of beds and wheelchairs.
- Maintain the tidiness and cleanliness of the examination room.
- Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
Requirements:
- The ability to use the EPR (Electronic Patient Record) hospital computer system as well as any DEXA-related systems.
- Strong communication and liaison skills.
- You will be required to comply with Health and Safety rules, local rules for the protection of persons against ionizing radiation, and agreed policies and procedures of the Trust.
