Job Details:
This is an opportunity to grow a Guidewire capability within Headforwards, initially leading a new team working with a large UK retail insurer. We are building a new Guidewire development team at Headforwards to help our client deliver features to support the FCA Consumer Duty regulations. While we have worked in the insurance sector for a number of years, this is the first time we have worked with Guidewire and are looking for someone experienced to help shape our teams.
This is a great opportunity for someone with several years of development and configuration experience across the Guidewire product suite who is looking to move into a more tech lead space. You will be responsible for the overall technical direction of our solutions ensuring they align with Guidewire and modern software development best practices, of course working in conjunction with the client and with support from Headforwards technical leadership. You will also provide Guidewire technical support to help the Delivery Lead recruit a team with the right skills for our client. This is a key role for us as we move into a new technology area and while we are looking for someone to help us provide technical leadership, this is very much a hands-on role. Day to day you will be delivering as an integral member of the team and we expect your technical skills to be up to date and high quality.
Headforwards prides itself on our lean approaches to software delivery, our teams are designed to be as cross-functional as possible to ensure we can share expertise effectively. We integrate ourselves within our clients seamlessly, becoming an extension of their existing capacity, but we also leverage the combined knowledge of the Headforwards teams to provide insights and expertise when needed. We focus on delivering the minimum possible to provide business value and ensuring that each change we make has considered testing from the start, so quality is designed in. We get excited with automated testing and continuous delivery pipelines and constantly look at ways to automate manual processes. While we have people in our teams with ranges of experience, we do not have a very hierarchical set-up, and believe that everyone in the team, no matter how experienced, all have an equal voice within the team. We expect this role, in collaboration with the Delivery Lead, to demonstrate these behaviours and encourage them throughout the team.
