Job Summary

Our Haematology/Oncology ward (12-bedded unit) at Luton & Dunstable Hospital is currently seeking a Clinical Support Worker to assist in delivering high-quality patient care under the guidance of our experienced registered nursing team.

This is a valuable opportunity to join one of the region’s leading NHS Foundation Trusts, where your contribution will directly support patients receiving life-saving treatment.

Key Responsibilities

Provide direct personal care to patients including washing, toileting, feeding, and mobility assistance
Support clinical staff with the safe and effective running of daily nursing operations
Communicate effectively with patients, relatives, and multidisciplinary teams
Maintain high standards of cleanliness, infection control, and patient safety
Ensure dignity, privacy, and respect for all patients at all times
Accurately document care activities and observations
Participate in team discussions and support care planning
Maintain patient confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally

Person Specification

Essential Qualifications & Skills

Basic understanding of personal care duties and procedures
Demonstrable literacy and numeracy skills
Good organisational and teamwork skills
Empathetic and respectful approach to patient care
Ability to communicate effectively across teams

➕ Desirable

NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Health & Social Care
Care Certificate (or willingness to complete upon joining)
Previous experience in a healthcare or customer care setting
