Job Summary

Our Haematology/Oncology ward (12-bedded unit) at Luton & Dunstable Hospital is currently seeking a Clinical Support Worker to assist in delivering high-quality patient care under the guidance of our experienced registered nursing team.
This is a valuable opportunity to join one of the region’s leading NHS Foundation Trusts, where your contribution will directly support patients receiving life-saving treatment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct personal care to patients including washing, toileting, feeding, and mobility assistance
- Support clinical staff with the safe and effective running of daily nursing operations
- Communicate effectively with patients, relatives, and multidisciplinary teams
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, infection control, and patient safety
- Ensure dignity, privacy, and respect for all patients at all times
- Accurately document care activities and observations
- Participate in team discussions and support care planning
- Maintain patient confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally

Person Specification
Essential Qualifications & Skills
- Basic understanding of personal care duties and procedures
- Demonstrable literacy and numeracy skills
- Good organisational and teamwork skills
- Empathetic and respectful approach to patient care
- Ability to communicate effectively across teams
➕ Desirable
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Health & Social Care
- Care Certificate (or willingness to complete upon joining)
- Previous experience in a healthcare or customer care setting

Additional Information
