About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Clinical Support Worker to join our Under-18 Eating Disorders Service based in Bury St Edmunds. This Band 3 position offers a unique opportunity to support young people dealing with complex eating disorders.
This part-time role (18 hours per week) is ideal for those with a solid background in child mental health and a passion for delivering meaningful care within a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation of positive behavioural support plans.
- Conduct home visits and provide practical and emotional support to young people and their families.
- Observe, report, and document any changes in patient wellbeing.
- Work under the direction of senior clinicians, including Nurses and Psychologists.
- Maintain respectful and therapeutic communication with patients, families, and carers.
What We’re Looking For
Essential Experience
- Previous experience within the care sector.
- Ability to work without direct supervision while coordinating with clinical team members.
- Confident in working with young people experiencing mental health or eating disorders.
Qualifications (Required – at least one of the following):
- Care Certificate (or willingness to complete within 12 weeks).
- NVQ Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care.
- Diploma Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care.
- Apprenticeship Framework Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care.
Other Requirements
- Ability to travel independently.
- Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to safeguarding patient wellbeing.
