BAND 6 SERVICE MANAGER (RESPIRATORY AND EDM)

Job Details:

Respiratory Medicine and Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism (EDM) are looking to recruit a dynamic, enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join the management team as a Service Manager. Reporting to the Operations Manager the post holder will help ensure that the department meets its quality, activity and performance related targets, whilst undertaking project work under the direction of the General Manager. The post holder will have a pivotal role in supporting the clinical areas to deliver high quality services in an efficient and effective manner.

The post holder will work under the direction of the Operations Manager and will be accountable for the daily management of all performance indicators including RTT 18wks, 6Wks Sleep Diagnostics, Cancer 2 week waits, 31 day and 62 day pathways. The role is varied and includes overseeing and building rotas, HR management, administration policy and procedure adherence, as well as having an oversight of costing, coding and funding streams.

The successful candidate will be educated to degree level or equivalent, be able to analyse complex statistical data, have the ability to make independent decisions and have experience of working with multiple clinical pathways directly linked to national standards, managing service indicators as well as managing people.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Degree or equivalent professional Management qualification.
  • Further management training and/or relevant managerial experience to post graduate diploma level.

Essential

  • Previous experience of working to NHS key performance and national standards.
  • Experience in handling confidential information.
  • Experience with dealing with patients, relatives and the general public.
  • Experience in managing in-patient and outpatient waiting lists and designing and implementing mitigating actions as required.
  • Previous line management experience of staff.
  • Working Knowledge of waiting list systems.
  • Knowledge of NHS and aims of its structure
