WHAT TO EXPECT
This role is responsible for the diagnosis and repair of vehicles which require electrical rectification and the diagnosis and repair electrical faults and conduct pre and post work inspections to ensure quality, In addition, this role also adheres to standardised work, proactively engages in improvement actives and contributes to the achievement of the team.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
Your key accountabilities and responsibilities include:
- Assembly / replacement / repair of electrical systems and components as applicable
- Diagnose / trace faults, rectify and validate issues and download software updates to vehicles as required
- Read and interpret harness drawings and liaise with engineering departments
- Fitment and removal of electrical parts as required
- Liaising with suppliers to help diagnose / change / rectify faulty components
- Support the creation of and adhere to standardised work instructions
- Contribute to improvement ideas to work group
- Take responsibility for Health and Safety of self and others
- Ensure quality of own work is maintained at all times
- Raise concerns and ask questions to solve problems, when necessary escalate issues through appropriate channel
- Responsible for the maintenance of and improvement of 5S standards in the area
- Adhere to company-wide and site specific policies
- Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Knowledge and Experience
Essential:
- Good IT skills, including knowledge of computer diagnostic equipment, electrical systems and components
- Working knowledge of TOPIX and FLAGS
- Ability to use problem solving techniques and equipment to diagnose electrical faults
- Ability to follow detailed working instructions
- Knowledge and experience of delivering safety metrics
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of vehicle rectification (electrical)
- Previous experience of interpreting harness drawings
- Generating training documentation
