Associate Director of Media Investment

Job Details:

Media.Monks is looking for Associate Director, Media Investment to join our team. In this role, you will lead a team of media specialists to translate media strategies to executions and bring them to life.

An ideal candidate here has deep hands on keyboard experience activating across the entire paid media ecosystem, with a focus on digital (including in-platform and digital direct). You love creating process, but also like developing new, creative ways to connect consumers and brands through innovative and creative media activations.

About the client:

Kraken, a recent win for the agency, is a popular cryptocurrency exchange founded in 2011. It is one of the oldest and most respected exchanges in the cryptocurrency industry. We manage full end to end services (from strategy to activation, measurement) for the client which is managed globally, but this role will be focused on the EMEA region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Translate media strategy to practical, tangible media executions. You are the super connector and translator to the Media Strategy group and Media Activation group.
  • Coordinate and provide leadership and direction to Media Activation teams
  • Build and maintain a team with relevant technical subject matter expertise across channels
  • Actively clear roadblocks and mitigate risk to enable successful media execution
  • Think strategically and holistically about the entire consumer experience and ensure adequate media investment levels across all media channels
  • Proactively optimise and adjust media plans and campaigns based on results and changing client needs
  • Architect campaigns in accordance with best practices and client needs, providing logic for setup and strategy
  • Carefully watch marketplace dynamics and evaluate current offering and capabilities across trends; Work with senior leadership to identify and close gaps as necessary
  • Serve as critical client leadership to ensure successful activation is at the forefront of all decision making; Integrate with client and internal stakeholder decision-making structure
  • Understand and maintain compliance with client Service Level Agreements
  • Act as team and organisation-wide escalation point across platform and media topics within the region
  • Maintain overall accountability for team QA based on published expectations and plan parameters
  • Serve as regional representative to key media partners; Participate in global negotiation activities
  • Participate in new business activity, collaborating on spec media plans for pitch activity and supporting as necessary
  • Design & support / maintain a system for general questions, escalations and information dissemination. Support top-down and bottom-up communication globally.
  • Track campaign performance and recommend optimisations as necessary; Develop and support a system of escalation and cascading of optimisation recommendations.
  • Participate in client reporting & insight sessions. Ensure translation of media activity to business objectives and vice versa.

Key Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of media activation experience with a deep focus in digital media – both on-platform and digital direct
  • Experience with translating personas and high-level audiences into targetable executions
  • Experience working in multi-market campaigns across emea
  • Strong ability to think strategically across all channels (online & offline) – search, social, programmatic, CTV, digital direct, OOH, offline, etc.
  • Ability to make strategic budget recommendations based on client objectives
  • Expert level experience within at least 2 platforms with strong hands-on experience (i.e. Social and Programmatic) with a strong working knowledge of the larger landscape
  • Strong understanding of the media activation process – including ad servers, tracking, taxonomy, etc.
  • Excellent presentation and storytelling capabilities
  • Strong working knowledge of critical tools, including: MediaOcean, Google Media Platform (i.e. SA360, DV360, CM360, etc.)
  • Ability to analyse insights and translate them into recommendations
