The Department of Student & Academic Administration (DSAA) is one of the largest central services at the University of Portsmouth and is core to its success. The department is responsible for a diverse and wide-ranging set of critical administrative responsibilities and services across the institution, and these include: student and course management systems, timetabling, admissions, student and programme administration, academic administration, graduation, external returns and data standards, UKVI student compliance, academic standards, quality management, and partnerships.
This is an exciting time to be joining the DSAA, and the Academic Registrar & Director is seeking a high quality candidate to manage the Department Office. The post holder will line-manage the Academic Registrar & Director’s Personal Assistant, and with them will deliver quality administration for the Department as well as providing coordination of projects where appropriate.
The successful candidate will have a high degree of professionalism, good communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. They will have a high level of attention to detail. In addition, they will be expected to participate in tasks and events associated with the student life cycle and department administration. Knowledge of working in a Higher Education environment is desirable and previous experience of working in a busy office environment is essential.
